Maze and Liza visit me

I hardly know where to start.  So I will just ramble on in no particular order and just let 'er rip.

Maze arrived early while I was still making the veggie tray and dip.  I still had to make the cheese board - Danish Fontina, roquefort, caraway havarti, and extra old cheddar. (never got to bring out the cheese.

Maze got lost as everyone does who first visits me. Maze is adorable.  He does look kinda like Van Johnson, His hair is golden (Clairol#72?), and he smells wonderful.  I noticed that when I gave him a big welcome hug.  He says it's cocoa butter but I think I had a whiff of some Patchouli - a 70's favourite (youngsters - ask your mother) He has good legs, I would say great, but I have been watching the guys in the olympics.....

Maze came bearing Buffalo gifts - 2 giants pizzas - one was a shrimp pizza.  His daughter works at a pizza shop and she personally made these pizzas for us. Canadians have to go "over the river" to NY state to get those thin crust pizzas with the magic pizza sauce.
He brought some bagels from Wegmans and 2 kinds of Kielbasa (we both are of Polish descent) Maze has that Western New York accent, not real bad, but you can tell , eh,? that he's not Canadian.

Maze and I started talking about all kinds of stuff, in a steady stream, just how he writes his blogs.  We are of the same generation so we reminisced about Sen-Sen (ask your grandmother ;>), we talked about everything from soup to nuts.

Liza phoned at least 4 times to say she was lost.  She was circling the general area, but I knew she would end up phoning the last time from the church parking lot within spitting distance of my place.  Tom also called me from the church parking lot.  Every who comes the first time calls from there.

Liza finally arrived with her daughter Victoria.  When i first laid eyes on her and Vee, I was confused.  Liza looks like she is 25 tops!  She says she is 42 but I think she must be lying about her age.  She is absolutely beautiufl and has the most beautiful genuine smile that some straight from her very being.  She just shines.  She is soooooo tiny.  I told her I was not going to stand beside her in any more pictures because I look enormous, and swore I needed to lose about 40 lbs.  She has the cutest tiny little feet. She was wearing cute leopard skin ballet flats  - to make herself look shorter, I think.

I hugged her out in the hall.  She is cute as a button.  She burst in the door like a whilrwind with Indian food (my favourite) - naam bread,  shrimp noodles, 2 kinds of samosas with yummy dipping sauce.

Tom was so glad to see her =---hug, hug, hug.  And then we got into the food immediately.  "Eat it now, it;s still hot, come on mimi " - said Liza, and  we all grabbed plates and started heaping up our dishes.  We yacked while we ate on our laps and felt
totally natural and comfortable - no awkwardness.  It was like we were lifelong friends.

After we ate, we yacked & Liza and Tom were snapping pictures of everything  - I asked them to take a picture of my caterpillars eating my dill and parsley.  Liza is so enthusiastic about everything and took pictures of  lots of things in and outside. She took a picture of my bookcase (lots of Buddhist books, Zen,yoga stuff) to show to her brother Reyji.  (I adore Reyji and was so sorry he could not make the trip this time.)  Liza said Reyji would come and visit me next month.  I plan to take him to the two local Buddhist temples - one is lavish like Disney Land and the other is humble.

More photos, taken inside and out, sitting beside each other, sitting on each other.
Victoria, 14 is adorable.  Tom says he could adopt Victoria and Liza in a second.  I felt the same way.  Victoria liked the old books I showed her, and I gave her an old  paperback copy of The Catcher in the Rye, Lord of the Flies, and Steinbeck's The Moon is Down.
I showed them some old 25cent pocket novels that were collecters items.  Victoria was so funny - she was looking at them and holding them up to her nose and inhaling deeply and saying, "Oh, I love the smell of old books".  She must be my young soul mate.  i love the smell of old books too.

To keep the story straight, I DID NOT show maze my appendix scar.  I still have my appendix.  And I did not stick my hand down his pants.  He is dreaming maybe.  I think he is just a big fat liar and you should not believe most of what he says.

I am glad that maze noticed that bathroom is clean.  I figured he would look in the medicine cabinet.  Read somewhere that most people do that - do you?  I confess that I have.  But he is welcome anytime to come and look in there, or in my fridge, or wherever.
Liza and Vee looked in my pantry/storeroom with great enthusiasm.  Liza said Vee likes looking at stuff like that all piled up.  I loved that!

Liza brought me a wonderful book, "Principles of Higher Living" by Swami Sai Premananda", her master/guru.   It is perfect because I am very interested in Indian philosophy and am currently working on theYoga Sutra.  Liza brought maze a good luck thing to hang in a doorway.

We talked more about every subject under the sun,--whether or not we ironed  our clothes was a good one.  Tom irons creases in his khakis before he goes out on the town.  Tom was wearing 2 shirts - he said he like to wear a  contrasting T-shirt under his polo shirt  to make a fashion statement and how years ago, no decent guy would go out without wearing an undershirt under his white dress shirt.

We asked about Tom's house in Buffalo.  he said it had 5 bedrooms and 2 baths, so Liza and I decided we should visit Tom and have a sleepover.  I said great and we'll wear our babydoll pyjamas. She had no idea what I was talking about.  Liza said she would pick me up in Niagara Falls and we would go visit Tom in Buffalo - Whoo Hoo i will get to see Tom's medicine cabinet.  Liza will take a picture of the inside of it and post in on Gaia!

Finally, it came time for them to go but i really didn't want it to end.We packed up food -  Princess Elizabeth cake for Liza's brother Reyji and some for Tom's bride.  I have frozen pizza, samosas, 2 kinds of kielbasa, 4 kinds of cheese, bean salad.  Hey  sounds like a party ---too bad you're not near by.

Oh yes, we did talk about YOU. - jenni,  martha, aley, tara , bb, ----and forgive me I can't remember everyone. We all mentioned that we appreciate all our friends, and lots of times we are surprised when we get a friends invitation from you.  We thought we were already friends.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this.  I hope we can do this again, and have you along for the fun.
(((hugs))) to all
I did not proof read this - it is 2:30 am.

You are one of the most precious people here to me, a great teacher, a gentle guide, and your presence is delightful and calming. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Someday, like John and Vee…I'd like to be sniffing your old books too (mmm)…though I do not look into people's medicine cabinets or drawers or such. :-D
I can't believe you have to come into NY for pizza!

Where ARE you Res?
Somewhere out there on the west coast, in the north, I think?,,
I remember where martha and aley are because they were some of the first people to invite me as “friend” when I first came here and was too terried to invite anyone.  (a good thing for us to remember about newcomers…right?)
I know jenni is in upstate new york, maze and I want to make sure   jenni at our next meet up.  It's all about geography and people's ability to travel.  Res you are always welcome here.  I love your loyal, sweet friendship since I have been here.  Lots of love (((hugs))

Oo!  Ariela, you're in New York City?  Hopefully I'll see you someday, as I do have plans to get there somehow in the next couple of years.  The Big Apple will be a required stop.

Mimi, now this shows the great regard for you that Maze has, as he obviously put effort into smelling nice for this occasion.  I think we should encourage him to continue with these efforts.  :)     —Hey, thank you for this wonderful blog.  When I read this, I'm just smiling, and then I started to giggle.  I'm so happy for you guys.  Good eats and wonderful company!  May we all enjoy many more meetups!   Hopefully, I'll call you from the church one of these days!

sweet mimi are you on my friends' list? i am really not sure, i lose track as I approach 300 :)

yes, i live in Montreal, Canada, and yes, i was part of the Silent Temple pod before it became inactive… in fact, Sean did a fun “interview” with me there, he is so cool…

i do have a really cool job and a great boss :). see, i run a math and reading centre, Kumon, which is a franchise. So I work three to four afternoons a week (depending on the time of year) and have loooots of time from early morning to early afternoon and then again in the evening and on the other four days or three I can play and play here on Gaia in between phone calls with parents, admin work, family, friends and International association stuff.

and if i need time off i consult with my boss - Nicole, I think I should take today off, what do you think? Absolutely you should! You need to take care of yourself, Nicole. :)

Like I did Thursday… been ill with a cold because of being run down with all the flying around everywhere… will continue to chill out today and tomorrow, should be fine by Monday.

you rock too! hug hug!

Dearest mimi

What a wicked afternoon I'm sorry I missed it would've been cool to meet Tom too.  Work got in the way just started a new job.  The pictures are great and your place looks fascinating I would go exploring too looking around your collections of stuff from the past. I adore you too mimi.  I have a definite feeling we knew each other in a past life so naturally we have to connect again. Remember our agreement for a so called date in our next lifetime? lol Perhaps we can get the karma rolling with a preliminary date. I would love for you to show me around the Buddhist temples in your area. I've never been to the huge temple in Niagara. We can meditate together. Sounds like it would make for a perfect day and date!

Your cake is to die for mimi that was soooo yummy. The pecans was like wow and of course you making it was the special ingredient. Thank you for thinking of me.  Loved reading your special day.

I'm so happy to have met you and Tom…  I'm such a dork head for getting lost in such a small city as Niagara Falls where I used to live 10  yrs ago!

I wonder if Victoria Secret could make Baby doll pajamas?  This is the most adorable posts of all time.  I don't think you missed anything Mimsie except the funny stories of your Daddy..    I truly loved your place.. it tells a fascinating story and a great reflection of who you are.  It was an honor to touch and smell your collection of old things.  You and Tom are just so genuinely adorable.. omg, please adopt us!

Vicky was so amused.  She said she loved the part where you'd be telling your story and then break every now and then to say, “oh these noodes are so delicious”  and then continue where you left off..  We love that!

Hahaha.. no Mimsie did not put her hand down Tom's pants…  LOL i think i did!

I'll see you soon!  and this time I will not get lost! hehehe.
