In your view, what life stage is the human family in?
I read this powerful paragraph late last night when I opened a new book I bought a few weeks ago. It seems appropriate for today's question.
"There were no formerly heroic times, and there was no formerly pure generation. There is no one here but us chickens, and so it has always been: a people busy and powerful, knowledgeable, ambivalent, important, fearful, and self-aware; a people who scheme, promote, deceive, and conquer; who pray for their loved ones, and long to flee misery and skip death. It is a weakining and discolouing idea, that rustic people knew God personally once upon a time ---or even knew selflessness or courage or literature---but that it is too late for us. In fact, the absolute is available to everyone in every age. There never was a more holy age than ours, and never a less."

Mimsie, what book is this praytell? I will come soon with Reyji and we can have tea in your backyard.. (no chickens please)..
Thanks for reading my blog. I edited the blog to say the book is 'THE WISDOM OF YOGA - A Seeker's Guide to Extraordinary Living” - by Stephen Cope.
I mix yoga with Buddhism because it was yoga that led me to Buddhism, for which I am eternally grateful.
I can't wait to see you - I will make my famous Delta Punch Ice Tea.
Delta Punch.. OK! and I will bring some Impanadas… my brother went on a Zen meditation retreat. I will tell him when he returns so we can drive down there and pay you a visit. I lived in N.F. back in 97 for one year on a street called Morse Ave. near Drumond's and Lundy's Lane. Next time come with us to Muskoka for a weekend of Vipassana Meditation!
Mimi, thank you for this, glad you are posting again. Hugs
Thank you for this, yes. It brings perspective to our existence that unfortunately isn't being introduced that much. Blessings. sherri
