This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 21, 2008:
That there are many solutions to any problem. There is no one right way. Be flexible in your thinking and open to other ideas. Choices are endless. Don't get stuck.
Lessons will be learned and taught. We will learn from other's good and bad examples. We will teach others by our own good or bad examples. In any case, the lessons will be taught and learned.
On the practical side, I teach my grandchildren new skills and attitudes. They all know basic meditation they can use to calm themself. On my last visit, I taught 2 yr. old Gracie, and 4 yr. old Samantha to make their beds each morning, step by step, always pointing out "get all the wrinkles out". They couldn't wait to do it each morning and squealing in delight at the results.
I taught them about the different herbs in the herb garden planter I bought for their sunny deck.- the names of each one, telling them to feel each one and smell the scent on their hands, and then to taste each one and tell me their favourite taste. Samantha loved the Lemon Thyme and wanted to eat the whole thing. Gracie's favourite was the chives. She loves spicey food, wants fresh ground pepper on everything, and says, "Mimi, I like beer."
We are all here at The Earth School. We should apply ourselves and try to graduate with Honour(s)

as they would say….you're giving your grand kids sage advice. What a great teacher they have.
WhooHoo,
good one maze!
The planter was the Parsley, SAGE, Rosemary and Thyme variety. Plus chives.
Beautifully written Mimi…grandmas always rule cuz they take the time moms and dads can't to teach important stuff!
:)
Your grandchildren are lucky to have such a wonderful teacher. These are the tiny life lessons that will enable them to bloom in the world like the magnificent flowers they are.
Do you know this quote? It's one of my favorites.
“Life is a school for angels. Love is the Teacher, so do your homework without fear. Death is merely graduation.”
AND I'M ALL FOR GRADUATING WITH HONORS!
Lucky grand children, sounds like you all have fun together
I love this. neat that your grand children are learning this from you and at such a young and impressionable stage. I am not sure you could give them anything better. I love to pinch the leaves of my sage plants and smell them and I love the smell left on my fingers after I dead head my marigolds.
Sweet gentle Mimi … I love this real juice of your life. You are a wealth of wisdom.
thanks SS and all who took time to comment. I was away for over 2 weeks, so now just catching up. ((hugs)) to all
