John Francis: I walk the Earth
I was so moved by this man's story. He made a decision one day, after seeing two oil tankers collide, to not use any motorized vehicle, and to stop speaking. He did it for 17 years. This is such a fabulous story of how his life went by making those decisions. He has such a calming voice, and such an important message for all of us to consider and put into practice each day. Hope you enjoy it too.

Mimi,
I think I read a story about this very man. Later, he went back to university and got a degree in environmental science I believe. He was still walking …
Deborah
Isn't he wonderful. He went to university without talking. He taught courses without speaking. He received his Doctorate I think the video looks long if you look at the minutes, but once he starts talking, you don't want it to end. thanks for stopping by.
(((hugs))
Mimi,
Yes, I thought it is long, I'll just listen for 5 mins and come back later.
No, Spirit gave me the quiet to listen to the whole thing straight through.
He is very funny too and so, I would laugh with him.
I feel he had a message for me but I'm not sure how it is meant to play out in my life.
Thank you ever so much -
Deb
dear mimi. this was great. he is a wonderful speaker and so inspiring. I want to do that some day. just start walking.
this was a joy to be silent to and listen too.
A wonderful man on a wonderful journey….
His words, voice, message reminds me of someone following bliss, flowing on the path, following heart and deeply connected..
Thank you for sharing this…
Oh Mimi, this is one of my favorite videos! Friends sent it to me about 4 times, saying, “Oh Martha, You'll love this!” But I hated it! Really! That banjo music that it starts with? This will show you how I just don't put up with certain things. I wouldn't listen to that awful banjo music! Finally, the 4th time, I thought, “Ok. There's got to be something to this insufferable crap or these folks wouldn't keep sending it.” So I just sat there and felt abused while he played the banjo, but of course fell in love with the entire rest of the tape. Now I show it to my communication classes! (But with appropriate apologies for the banjo music…! :)
Thank you for sharing this one!
Hi Debyemm,
I too felt the message and the person. Not sure how it will play out in my life, but know that his face and voice and message are imbedded in me, somewhere in some deep place that I will access in the right moments. I am glad that you felt moved by Spirit to Listen.((hugs))
Hi Jenni,
you have a headstart on lots of us with walking, but you have an able companion poly. I have a feeling he is a good listener.
maze, joysilencelisten - a great trio.
ange - thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment

this is wonderful. is it ok if i crosspost to the God Pod? Hugs
Hi Girls,
Glad you like it, Nicole and Res
Please, please pass it on to as many people as you like.
You gotta love this guy. Isn't it amazing that he just DID this. Like didn't make some big master plan and become attached to a certain outcome. He couldn't have dreamed up such an outcome or his decision that day to walk everywhere, and not to speak for 17 years. I amstill in awe at this gentle man.
Very cool message Mimi from John Francis what a wonderfull man, the lesson I learned from watching his talk is I don't need to be quite for 17 years or walk around the world for change to happen, it all starts right here and right now. Namast'e RD
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing this video. :-)
I love being inspired to continue moving forward on my journey.
We're all doing this together and it's soooo beautiful!
